Wilson Talent Center Students Advance to State SkillsUSA Competition

Twenty-two students from the Wilson Talent Center (WTC) have competed in regional SkillsUSA competitions and have earned the honor of advancing to the state competition. SkillsUSA is a national non-profit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. The WTC was represented at regional competition by students from the Construction, Criminal Justice, New Media and Precision Machining programs.

Students who advanced will attend the SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference April 8-10, 2022, in Grand Rapids. WTC students placing at regionals and will continue to states include:

“We are extremely proud of our students who competed and represented the Wilson Talent Center at regional competition,” noted Jeff Smith, Associate Principal and SkillsUSA Advisor at the Wilson Talent Center. “Their performance is a testament to their hard work and dedication. I also commend our instructors for successfully preparing these students for competition,” Smith also noted.

The Wilson Talent Center, operated by Ingham Intermediate School District, offers career and technical education programs for high school juniors and seniors who reside in Dansville, East Lansing, Haslett, Holt, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston. Applications are also accepted from Lansing School District, Fowlerville Community Schools and Eaton and Clinton County schools.
