Ingham Play & Learn Groups

Great Parents, Great Start (GPGS) offers parent/caregiver and child activities and developmental screenings for children birth through age five. GPGS also connects families to community resources, promotes school readiness, and supports high-quality, early education and care.

A Message to Ingham Play & Learn Group Families:

All face-to-face playgroups continue to be suspended at this time due to Covid-19. We are working on alternate ways to provide families with connections to activities, playgroup facilitators, and other families. Please watch for more information about these opportunities in the near future.

In the meantime, check out the following resources:

About Ingham Play & Learn Groups

Join us for free, fun, interactive activities for children ages birth to kindergarten entry. Trained Parent Educators use the Parents As Teachers Model to provide:

  • Story Time
  • Music
  • Singing
  • Movement
  • Play Dough
  • Creative/Art Activities
  • Sensory Table
  • Exploration and Peer Interaction/Socialization

Groups offer a shared learning experience for the caregiver and children (under age 5). For this reason, the caregiver must remain with the child(ren) at all times.

  • Children must be registered, in advance, to attend a group.
  • Families are liimited to one (1) group per family.
  • Families must reside within one of the Ingham ISD School Districts: Dansville, East Lansing, Haslett, Holt, Lansing, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville, or Williamston.

NOTE: Play & Learn Groups are suspended due to Covid-19. No enrollments are being processed at this time. Once groups resume (estimated to be Fall 2021), please complete the Enrollment/Registration for the group you are interested in attending by listing your first and second choice.  Assume your registration is confirmed upon submitting the Enrollment Form. If your first choice is full/closed, you will receive a phone call regarding your second choice or to discuss being added to a waitlist. Contact 517.244.1267 for questions.
