Fenner’s Nature Day Camp provides campers the opportunities to experience the great outdoors right here in their own neighborhood. With a variety of programs ranging from Bugs & Slugs to Eco Art, campers will track insect trails, paint with pond water, investigate ecosystems and explore. But more importantly, they will make new friends, try new things and develop confidence in their capability.

Full day camps from 9 am – 4 pm are open to children who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten through grade 6. Extended care is available from 4 – 5:30 pm. Learn more at Fenner Nature Center.

Gifted and Talented programs are available through partnerships with Michigan State University and Lansing Community College. These programs provide challenging educational enrichment opportunities for K-12 students. Learn more at Gifted and Talented Programs.

The LEADing for Life Global Summer Learning Institute (GSLI) is a residential program that will focus on developing a Pipeline of high achieving, diverse students (current high school juniors) by providing an immersive learning opportunity that includes both industry and college experience.

Summer L.A.B.S. Camps

Learn about basic science in science-themed day camps! L.A.B.S. Camps offer children hands-on on experiences exploring scientific concepts through interactive experimentation, challenges, artistic expression, and play. These camps are designed to pique your child's interest in the world around them, encourage curiosity and creativity, and celebrate new discoveries each day. Camps are for children ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-13.

The Michigan Learning Channel's immersive and fun Summer program has returned! Their free 8-week program encourages kids to “Learn, Do, and Explore” with literacy and math lessons, hands-on science and fitness activities, and career exploration and virtual field trips. Find videos, a fun activity book, virtual events, and more to keep students from preschool to 6th grade engaged in learning.

The National Science Foundation’s National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, NSCL, is a national scientific user facility available to scientists from around the world. It allowed scientists to make scientific discoveries about the inner workings of atoms and their role in the universe. 

Physics of Atomic Nuclei (PAN)

NSCL and JINA co-sponsor a Physics of Atomic Nuclei program on the campus of MSU each summer. PAN is a free residential summer camp for science teachers and high school students.

REACH Studio Art Center is a vibrant non-profit community art center offering creative out-of-school engagement in the arts for all ages and abilities with classes and workshops taught by local teaching artists. Free and sliding scale fee programs in a variety of arts media and disciplines happen at REACH, a campus of six studios located in the REO Town district of Lansing or around town through the REACH Art Truck program.

REACH has seven great afternoon art camps (12:30-3:30pm) planned for students this summer, along with an extended day option (3:30-5:30), full and partial scholarships based on household income and more. Camps are for 6-12 year olds and our registration will be available very soon! We are working on finalizing details for camps 1, 3, 4, and 5.

Our camps have been recognized time and time again, winning Club Industry's BEST of the BEST twice in as many years for our Dance Camps and our summer long MAC Camp. Camp Discovery (Grades PreK-7th)

Camp Discovery at Woldumar Nature Center is a safe place for campers to make friends, learn about nature, and participate in structured and unstructured play. Woldumar's forest, wetland, and prairie habitats serve as our playground and science lab. Campers experience the excitement of science through pond dipping, bug catching, shelter building, bird watching, and fishing. We foster a positive learning and community-building experiences which allow children to flourish in an inclusive atmosphere that values curiosity and diversity.

Summer camp is a place where science comes alive and lasting friendships are built as children explore and discover the natural world. Safety is and always will be our first priority.  In addition to daily STEM lessons, each day, your camper will have a memorable camp experience they will not forget. Whether you're a returning camper or new, we welcome you to share your summer at Woldumar.

Camp Discovery Jr. is available every week for Pre-K and Kindergarten campers.  The session themes are the same, but all activities are modified for a younger audience.

The zoo has you covered with the wildest weeks of programming available in Michigan! Each day of camp includes a variety of hands-on experiences, animal presentations, and adventures typical zoo visitors don’t have.

We have a great camp season planned!  We will continue to offer both morning and afternoon sessions each week of Zookambi for kids entering grades 1-7. We will again offer both morning and afternoon extended care.
