Attend a Board Meeting

Regular Board of Education meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month except as indicated. Special meetings are scheduled as needed. Regular meetings begin at 6:00 pm in Thorburn Education Center's conference room. Notices of special meetings are advertised in accordance with applicable state statute.

All meetings of the Board are open to the public except those specifically exempted by law. Closed sessions may be called to discuss certain personnel matters, student discipline, contract negotiations and for consultation with attorneys on pending litigation. No vote on any item may be taken in closed session.

A quorum of three board members is needed to conduct business. The superintendent and administrative staff are available at board meetings to provide reports and background information.

Minutes are recorded at each board meeting. These minutes are public record and, as such, are available to interested individuals.

Public Comments

All meetings of the Board of Education include time for "Communications from the Audience." The Board appreciates comments from community members who have concerns and wish to make a statement. If an individual or organization wishes to make an extended presentation to the Board, they are encouraged to make arrangements with the superintendent at least one week prior to the board meeting. Also, you may express you concerns in writing. Each board member will receive a copy of your letter.
