Board Members Play a Critical Role in Student Success

LANSING, MI – January is School Board Recognition Month and Ingham Intermediate School District (Ingham ISD), along with schools across the entire state, celebrate the dedication and commitment of their Board of Education.

“School Board Members have weathered some pretty challenging storms in the past few years,” states Ingham ISD Superintendent, Jason Mellema. “Navigating the complexity of COVID-19, understanding the need for in-person learning and recognizing that our communities have been somewhat divided on the approach to safety has made their jobs very difficult. Our district is incredibly fortunate to have a very supportive board.”

Ingham ISD Board Members include:

  • Nancy Stanley, President, began serving in 2009, lives in Mason
  • Lori Zajac, Vice President, began serving in 2018, lives in Holt
  • Michael Flowers, Treasurer, began serving in 2012, lives in Lansing
  • Erin Schor, Secretary, began serving in 2013, lives in Lansing
  • John Wolenberg, Trustee, began serving in 2005, lives in East Lansing

“We cannot thank them enough for their service and continued focus on student needs,” added Mellema.

Board members were recognized at the January 18, 2022 board meeting.
