Wilson Talent Center Healthcare Students Advance to State Competition

Several students from the Wilson Talent Center’s Health Foundations course recently competed in HOSA Future Health Professionals regional competition and have advanced to the state leadership conference. The regional competitions were held virtually in December, and the state leadership conference will take place at the Grand Traverse Resort, February 24-25, 2022.

HOSA exists to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of high school, post-secondary and middle school students interested in healthcare. With over 260,000 members across the nation, HOSA creates driven, determined student leaders that are excited about healthcare and all that HOSA has to offer.

The following students placed in the Top 10 in regional competition, which advances them to the state leadership conference:

 “We are extremely proud of the determination and success of our healthcare students in their first student leadership competition,” notes Joe Wenzel, Principal at the Wilson Talent Center. “Competitions like this develop skills, compassion and leadership qualities that will be of great benefit to these students in their future healthcare careers,” Wenzel also noted.

The Wilson Talent Center, operated by Ingham Intermediate School District, offers career and technical education programs for high school juniors and seniors who reside in Dansville, East Lansing, Haslett, Holt, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston. Applications are also accepted from Lansing School District, Fowlerville Community Schools and Eaton and Clinton County schools.
