Michelle Rosa-Derdowski Promoted to Director of Special Education Program Accountability

Michelle Rosa-Derdowski has been promoted to the Director of Special Education Program Accountability at Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD). Rosa-Derdowski will be responsible for planning and implementing activities and requirements for special education compliance, results, and technical assistance with Ingham ISD and its constituent districts. Additional responsibilities will include supporting local districts, public school academies, ISD programs and community agencies via a collaborative consultation model.

Rosa-Derdowski earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in special education from Western Michigan University. In addition, she has earned a Supervisor of Special Education Approval from Saginaw Valley State University, an Educational Specialist degree in K-12 Administration from Michigan State University and an Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Endorsement from Grand Valley State University.

“We are excited to have someone of Michelle’s caliber in this new role as Program Accountability Director,” notes Crystal Cutler, Executive Director of Student Support Services for Ingham ISD. “She brings a wealth of experience to this position that will serve her well and her leadership will ensure that Ingham ISD, as well as our local districts, remain in compliance with federal and state regulations related to students with disabilities,” Cutler also noted.

Rosa-Derdowski joined Ingham ISD in 1998 as a teacher for students with emotional impairments. Since then she has held numerous roles including Staff Specialist for emotional impairments programs, Special Education Teacher for students with ASD, Teacher Consultant for students with ASD and Technical Assistance Provider. In addition, she serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Lansing Community College.
