Heartwood Kicks Off a New School Year with Community and Connection
Heartwood School’s Open House brought students, families and staff together to reconnect, explore classrooms and get ready for the 2026–27 school year.
There’s something special about walking back into school before the first bell of a new year rings.
At Heartwood School, students and families recently had the chance to do just that during the school’s Open House, reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting teachers and staff and getting comfortable with the classrooms and people who will be part of their days throughout the 2026–27 school year.
The event gave families an opportunity to explore the school together without the rush of a typical school day. Students visited classrooms, played games, caught up with friends and spent time with the Heartwood staff members ready to welcome them back.
For students, especially those who benefit from knowing what — and who — to expect, experiences like an Open House can help make the transition into a new school year feel a little more familiar.
But the afternoon was about more than preparation. The smiles, playful photos and conversations throughout the building reflected something that matters all year long at Heartwood: connection.
A new school year brings new routines, new opportunities and plenty of learning ahead. Starting it surrounded by the people who will share in that experience is a pretty great way to begin.
Here’s to a wonderful 2026–27 school year, Heartwood!
