Build Up Michigan

Every child grows and develops at their own pace, but if you’re noticing that your child or a child you know isn’t hitting certain milestones, it might be time to check in.

Build Up Michigan offers free support for children ages 3 to 5 who may need help with things like speech, movement, behavior, or learning. If you have concerns, just fill out the short Inquiry Form linked below to start the evaluation process. It’s easy and could make a big difference.

Services are always free and provided through the public school district where the family lives, even if the child isn’t in preschool yet.

Getting support early can really help kids build confidence and be ready for school. Don’t wait. If something doesn’t feel quite right, trust your instincts and reach out.

Families

If you are concerned that your child is experiencing delayed learning, the first step is to complete an Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).

Here's how it works:

  • Fill out the ASQ for your child. You can also complete the ASQ: SE if you are curious about your child’s social and emotional growth.
  • Make sure you check “Build Up” for How did you hear about us? on the ASQ so that we know you are concerned about your child’s learning and development.
  • One of our friendly care coordinators will reach out to discuss the results and hear about your concerns.
  • We will connect you with in-home activities or local resources to support your child’s development, and if needed, send a Build Up inquiry to your local schools.
  • We will reach back out in a few months to see how things are going and provide additional support as needed.

We’re here to support you. Get started today with an ASQ.
