Home Visiting Services
Early On® (Birth to Age 3)
Early On® is a statewide network of services for families of children, birth to age three, who have a developmental delay or are at risk due to an established medical condition or disability.
- Services are free to families with no income eligibility requirements.
- Anyone can make a referral (parent, teacher, physician, childcare provider, or friend).
- A trained staff member will follow up with a developmental screening or evaluation at no cost.
Available Services:
- Developmental assessments
- Occupational, physical, and speech therapy
- Special instruction
- Service coordination & referrals
- Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
- Transition planning after age three

Great Parents, Great Start (Birth to Kindergarten Entry)
The Great Parents, Great Start Program provides free, research-based home visiting and learning opportunities for families across Ingham County.
Services include:
- Home visits with Certified Parent Educators using the Parents as Teachers model
- Developmental screenings for all children, birth to kindergarten entry
- Play & Learn groups in the community
- Age-appropriate learning activities and resources
- Guidance for reading 30 minutes a day
- Connections to community programs and services

- Improved school readiness for all young children
- Increased caregiver involvement in learning
- Stronger family stability and relationships
- Reduced need for special education services
- Higher success rates in grade-level learning
