About WTC
The Wilson Talent Center (WTC) offers Career & Technical Education programming for high school juniors and seniors, as determined by the student's local district*. Offering 20 programs in 12 career clusters, students have the opportunity to earn high school academic credit, free college credit and either state or national certifications. WTC is preparing students for their life beyond high school. Nearly 80% of our students continue their education after leaving high school either though apprenticeships, advanced training or two or four-year college degrees. Partnering with more than 17 colleges and universities, students can earn either articulated college credit or direct college credit.
The Wilson Talent Center also prides itself on that it works with a variety of business leaders either through Advisory Board participation or Work-Based Learning opportunities for our students. These partnerships are vital to the education of our students.
* Because each local school district sets its own graduation requirements, the WTC relies on the local district's board determined credit thresholds to define a student's academic standing.
- Junior Status: A student has earned a minimum number of credits established by their local school district to be classified as an 11th grader. It signifies that the student is on track to graduate with their original freshman cohort on time.
- Senior Status: A student has earned the minimum number of credits established by their local school district to be classified as a 12th grader and is on track to complete all local graduation requirements by the end of that academic year.
