Capital Improvement Projects
Following a facilities assessment and extensive planning, Ingham ISD completed several major projects to enhance student learning spaces. Renovations were made to Heartwood School, program updates were implemented at the Wilson Talent Center, and a new wing was added to create North Star School for students with high emotional needs. North Star School combined the former Secondary Learning Center and Evergreen programs into one location.
Funding for these improvements came from the Capital Improvement account, which supports career and technical education enhancements, and the Headlee Special Education Restoration Millage passed by voters on March 10, 2020. The restored millage made it possible to renovate aging facilities and better meet student needs.
Construction took place from June 2022 through December 2023, marking an important investment in educational environments that support student growth and success.
