LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff Friday, April 21, on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex in honor of Brandon Cavanaugh of Bay City, a Sergeant in the Michigan National Guard, who died Thursday, April 13.

The Capital Area Career Center will host a Student/Parent Information Night on Wednesday, April 19 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Career Center. Openings for the 2017-2018 school year are available in the following programs: BioScience Careers, Business & Risk Management, Construction Technology, Engineering Technology, Precision Machining Technolory and Proramming & Mobile Applications. Enrollment staff will be on hand to answer questions.

On Saturday, April 22, 2017, Ingham Intermediate School District will host its third annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) Geekend Camp for students in grades 5-7. The camp will be held at the Capital Area Career Center, located at 611 Hagadorn Road in Mason.

Twenty-two students from the Capital Area Career Center (CACC) have competed in regional SkillsUSA competitions at various locations and have earned the honor of advancing to state competition. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.
