Gov. Rick Snyder lowers flags in honor of Air Force Capt. Andrew Becker

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff Friday, March 24, on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex in honor of Andrew Becker, an Air Force captain who died Tuesday, March 14.

Twenty-two students from the Capital Area Career Center (CACC) have competed in regional SkillsUSA competitions at various locations and have earned the honor of advancing to state competition. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, March 2, on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex in honor of Ron Savage, a volunteer firefighter with the Milford Fire Department and a news anchor for Fox 2 Detroit, who died Saturday, Feb. 25.

CACC Welding Instructor Wins Excellence in Education Award

Jeff Grossman, Welding Technology instructor at the Capital Area Career Center (CACC), was recently honored with an Excellence in Education Award from the Michigan Lottery and Fox 47 News. Grossman has been with Ingham Intermediate School District as a welding instructor for more than four decades, serving nearly 2,000 students over the years.
