Ingham ISD Celebrates Groundbreaking

On Tuesday, May 17, Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD) will officially break ground on a construction project on our Mason Campus.

After a facilities assessment of needs and a lot of planning, we are proud to share that we will be making some renovations to Heartwood School, many program updates to the Wilson Talent Center and adding a new wing to create North Star School for our students with high emotional needs.

The funding for this project came from a few places. A Capital Improvement account was established several years ago to set aside funds for career and technical education program enhancements. This will be used for the enhancements to our Wilson Talent Center programming.

The second portion of our funding is a result of the passing of the Headlee Restoration Millage on March 10, 2020. Due to overwhelming voter support, we were able to bring in additional funds for facility renovations. Thank you to our voters for supporting our students with disabilities.

The Board of Education, staff and students will join the construction team for a brief ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the renovations to existing and new learning spaces for students participating in our special education or career and technical education programming. Heartwood School, Secondary Learning Center, Evergreen and the Wilson Talent Center will all see some renovations to their educational spaces.
