Wilson Talent Center to Host Year-End Student Showcase May 12

The Wilson Talent Center (WTC) will host its Year-End Student Showcase on Thursday, May 12, from 4:00-7:00 pm at 611 Hagadorn Road in Mason. This annual event is an opportunity for family, friends, business partners and community members to see the projects students have created throughout the year as well as the skills students have learned.

There will be live demonstrations, an art show, health assessments and a car show by various programs. In addition, the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program will have its Fresh & Furious Food Truck available, and guests can purchase a variety of food items.

The WTC offers 18 career & technical education programs to eligible high school juniors and seniors. Students can earn high school academic credit, free college credit as well as state and national industry certifications. Students spend half of their day at their local district high school and the other half at the WTC.

“After a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19, we are excited to be able to host our Student Showcase once again,” notes Joe Wenzel, Principal at the WTC. “Our students and staff work extremely hard throughout the year to make sure students are both college and career ready, and they deserve the opportunity to show off the skills they have learned during their time with us. I hope family, friends and community members stop in and see what they have accomplished,” Wenzel also noted.

The Wilson Talent Center, operated by Ingham Intermediate School District, offers career and technical education programs for high school juniors and seniors who reside in Dansville, East Lansing, Haslett, Holt, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston. Applications are also accepted from Lansing School District, Fowlerville Community Schools and Eaton and Clinton County Schools.
