Midwest Academic Talent Search Information
Qualified middle school students who registered for MATS should receive test preparation materials by mail by December 20. Those who have not received materials by then should contact the Center for Talent Development office at 847-491-3782.
MATS test dates are: SAT Reasoning Saturday, January 26, 2008
ACT Saturday, February 9, 2008
Read over the materials you received from the testing center with your admission document. Student will not be allowed to eat or drink during the test session. You may bring a small snack to eat at your 5 minute breaks.
Please enter the building on the west side between the flagpole and the Media Center. Parents should park in the student parking lot to the north of the building.
Contact your local school district for the availability of test preparation session.
All students should receive their admission ticket at least one week before the test date. If you do not receive it, contact the testing agency directly. (ACT: 319-337-1270; SAT: 866-756-7346)
Girls Math/Science Conference
The 19th annual Girls Math/Science Conference will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at East Lansing High School.
GATE Programs (Gifted and Talented Education)
Dimensions
A program designed for students who participated in the Midwest Academic Talent Search Project for Northwestern University; conducted at Michigan State University for the 22nd summer.
Program cost: $350. non-refundable application fee of $25.00 is due with application.

MASCOT
Mathematics Augmentation Series: Cultivating Optimum Teaching and Learning by improving techniques; using technology, teaming Students and teachers. This is a three week half day program for students currently in grade six.
Program cost: $250.00

A two week half –day program designed for students in grades 4 and 5 with high interest in science. This program is an interdisciplinary approach to studying science and technology

Girls Math/Science Conference
A half day program designed to expose female students, in grade 6, to Discovery Presenters which are hands on session, Special Topics for parents and Role Model Panel for parents and educators. The day is ends with a closing session for all participants.
Conference cost $30.00

Saturday School Fall and Spring
A program designed for 7 Saturdays offering 10 to 15 different enrichment courses for interested students in grades 2 -8. This program is conducted on the campus of Lansing Community Colleges ( main campus and LCC east campus.
Program cost $98.00 to $134.00 per course
