Internet Safety Tips

  • Don’t give out identifying information on the Internet
    • This is stuff like your full name, address, & phone number.
  • There’s a lot you can do to exit an inappropriate website.
    • Click ‘X’ in the top corner of the window
    • Turn off the computer
    • Click the ‘Back’ button on your Web browser
    • ‘Control-Alt-Delete’
  • Bewareof e-mails from people you don’t know or that contain weird attachments.
    •  They could contain viruses that can destroy your computer!
    •  Downloading and duplication of copyrighted stuff, like songs and movies, is illegal.
  • Use your parents, teachers, other mentors, and i-Safe as teammates in Internet safety.
  • Have fun on the Internet
    •  You can use the Internet for many cool things. But like any community (real or cyber), there are times in cyberspace where you can find yourself in scary situations. A little street smarts on the ‘Net’ will help your online experience befun, rewarding, and safe!
