Heartwood School
Heartwood School is a special education center-based program that provides service to all districts within Ingham County, except Lansing and Waverly. Classroom programming is provided to students identified as Trainable Mentally Impaired, Severely Mentally Impaired, Severely Multiply Impaired and Educable Mentally Impaired. In addition, some students with Autism can be a part of the classroom composition. Children who attend Heartwood School are between the ages of 3 and 26 years of age.
The Building is a 53,000 square foot facility located on the grounds of Ingham Intermediate School District. The school capacity is approximately 150 students. In addition to the classrooms and office space, Heartwood School has two therapeutic swimming pools, a gymnasiumm, cafeteria, play areas, diagnostic areas and a work production area. |
