Student Management Systems
The Student Management Systems (SMS) Workgroup draws its membership from district staff engaged in instructional, curriculum, administrative and technology work. The Workgroup will identify and review SMS products, assist in the development of an RFP, review the RFP results and make a recommendation regarding a SMS package that will meet the needs of the Workgroup participants.
In early 2009, after much research and review, the Workgroup participating districts chose the PowerSchool student management system. A Student Management System Consortium consisting of Dansville, Ingham ISD, Leslie, Stockbridge, Webberville and Williamston has been formed to reduce overall costs, share hardware and software support resources and training. This Consortium finished PowerSchool implementation in August 2009.
Local tech directors and power users provide some support and oversight in each district, while Ingham ISD provides server support, upgrades, training, report writing and general application support. The Consortium LEAs pay an annual fee for this support.
