 Fingerprinting

Process

All new teacher substitutes are required to undergo criminal history checks to substitute teach in the State of Michigan. You will be required to be fingerprinted and sign a statement indicating your criminal history. This includes all criminal history, whether a felony or misdemeanor. You will be notified if a criminal history check comes back and indicates that you were not truthful in filling out the statement and lose your eligibility to teach. There is a $55 fee for the fingerprinting process and record check. Please follow the steps below:

  1. The fee is $55.00. Please bring a check or money order made payable to Ingham ISD, or you may pay by credit card or e-check by clicking on the Payshools link below. Be sure to bring a copy of your receipt as proof of payment at the time you are fingerprinted.
  2. Complete all information on the Fingerprint Information Form and Conviction Disclosure Form. Required forms may be downloaded below. These forms will also be included in your Substitute Packet.

You must be fingerprinted at least one week prior to your scheduled orientation session.

We will electronically submit a request to the Michigan State Police for the criminal history search results. You will not be permitted to work until we have received and reviewed your criminal history search results.

If you have any questions, please contact the CASS Department at (517) 244-1200 or (517) 244-1202.
