Information for CACC Students and Parents
WorkKeys ® is a job skills assessment system that measures real-world skills. Career Center students take the WorkKeys assessment upon entering the Career Center in order to compare the student's current skill level with that required for their professions of interest and, if necessary, create a plan to improve applied academic skills. Student take the assessment again prior to leaving the Career Center so they may see the progress they have made in reaching their goals. The WorkKeys assessment is an instructional tool in the classroom and the data is also used for school improvement.
Career Center students use KeyTrain ® interactive training software for the WorkKeys® basic workplace skills. KeyTrain provides a comprehensive learning system for common skills required by all jobs, based on ACT's WorkKeys employment system. By completing the KeyTrain tutorial modules, students will improve the applied academic skills required in the workplace.
