"Making the connection from classroom to work site." That's the most basic definition of School-to-Work partnerships. These programs coordinate and integrate high school classroom studies with on-the-job experiences.

• Automotive Youth Education System (AYES) in the Automotive Technology Program

Through partnerships such as these, students benefit because they make the connection between academic skills, technical skills and employability skills and how those meet the needs of employers and our fast changing world of work. Employers benefit because they're helping to ensure that tomorrow's high school graduates will be well-prepared employees with the skills necessary to be successful and productive members of the mid-Michigan workforce.
