SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. Programs and students that participate in SkillsUSA can enjoy competitions, leadership training, online resources, discounts on tools and equipment, and more.
Construction students participate in Skills USA . Students attend the state leadership conference attending work shops and presentations. Students have an opportunity to compete in regional and state competitions. Former students have competed at the State Level in Masonry, Carpentry, Residential Electrical, Residential Plumbing, Prepared Speech and Extemporaneous Speaking.
Culinary Arts/Hospitality participate in Skills USA a career and technical club for students enrolled in a CTE program. My students compete in Commercial Baking, Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage and any leadership competitions. In each competition students are expected to demonstrate their skills by completing a hands-on competition in a specified amount of time.
New Media participates in Skills USA . Every year we take part in the Video Production competition which has the students create a 60 second promo for skills. The teams of two students have 2 hours to shoot and another 2 hours to edit their entry.
