There are many job opportunities in the health care field. From doctors, nurses, ultrasound technicians, therapists and dieticians to department managers, hospital administrators and billing specialists, the number of people it takes to run a healthcare facility is great. This course will get you started on the road to any of these jobs and hundreds of others. If a hospital or healthcare facility is where you’d like to work, this is the perfect first step in your career preparation.  You will work closely with your assigned career mentor, you will have many opportunities to interact with healthcare staff in a variety of settings.

This course is open to juniors and seniors and students must provide their own transportation to the Sparrow Hospital classroom as well as other off site healthcare facilities.

Best thing about CAHEP

  • You learn to be independent and to work as a team at the same time.
  • My favorite things about CAHEP are the relationships that are formed with my classmates and my mentor, and also getting real life experience which will help me choose my future career.
  • My favorite thing about the program is when I go to different sites or hospitals to job shadow. When I follow a person around, I narrow down my choices for what I want to be when I grow up.
  • The best thing about the CAHEP program is it gives us opportunities to meet with mentors who can assist us, and also go on job shadowing. I like this because it gives us an over view of different careers pending on what our job shadow is.
