National Career Readiness Certificate
National Career Readiness CERTIFICATE TM
The National Career Readiness CertificateTM is designed to complement other traditional credentials such as a high school diploma, community college degree, or college degree.
The National Career Readiness CertificateTM is based on three WorkKeys® assessments:
- Applied Mathematics
- Locating Information
- Reading for Information
These three skills are measured on the Michigan Merit Examination (MME). WorkKeys® is the foundation of the National Career Readiness CertificateTM, which gives job seekers, those who prepare them, and employers a way to connect and communicate.
KeyTrain® is an interactive, on-line currculum designed to achieve mastery of the applied academic workplace skills assessed by WorkKeys® including those tested on the Michigan Merit Examination--Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information.
In addition to the academic curriculum, students have access to the KeyTrain Career Skills series. This field-tested curriculum is designed to teach and reinforce "soft" workplace skills such as work habits, business ethics, customer service, and on-the-job etiquette.
