Junk, found objects, discarded material and/or recyclables -- serve as an art medium for all ages. Using found objects in art making is an effective technique to extend students' creative capacities. Using recyclables also makes for easy and important curriculum connections to social studies and science, as we understand the earth's limited resources and implications for citizen stewardship.
Arts integration spring showcase

Teachers using arts integrated curriculum share their insights, examples and best practices. Reflective student interviews about engaging in the creative process will be featured. Arts-based and arts-integrated instructional strategies are referenced in the context of units of study and projects.
